Critique Services for
Writers
As a published writer and long time member of
several critique groups, I have critiqued literally hundreds
of manuscripts. Many have gone on to publication. I have
also served for 3 years critiquing creative writing
manuscripts of junior high and high school students for a
Teen Arts Festival. Although I specialize in children's
literature, I provide critique services to writers of both
children's and adult's literature, including poetry.
Critique services
provided
at the following rates:
Minimum charge is $25 for a 5-page
manuscript. This includes suggestions about grammar, word
choice, sentence length, story structure and more. An
in-depth critique is $40 and includes line-by-line comments
with suggested changes. Additional pages of the same
manuscript are $5.
Rhyming picture books add $10. Critique
includes suggestions on rhymes, meter, syllables, and story
development.
Critique of a query letter is
$15.
Manuscripts must be formatted the same as for
submission to publishers, i.e., double space, 1-inch
margins, first page with name and address, title halfway
down. Include word count. Manuscripts may be submitted by
email (preferred). Payment by check, money order, or Paypal.
